for Clarity, Healing, and Courage

Cleave Events

Our live events are designed to help people navigate some of the hardest relational realities they face with greater clarity, steadiness, and courage.

Some events will focus on boundaries. Some on estrangement and grief. Some on marriage, healing, faith, and family systems.

Each one is created to offer practical guidance, honest language, and grounded encouragement for people who are trying to move forward without betraying what is true.

The workshops below are our current featured live series.

Not to sensationalize pain. Not to oversimplify complex relationships. Not to hand you clichés.

But to help you think clearly, move honestly, and feel less alone.

Two Live Workshops for

Two Stages of the Boundary Journey

Whether you are trying to find the courage to set a boundary or trying to heal from the fallout that came after, this series was created to meet both moments with honesty, wisdom, and practical help.

Boundaries Without Guilt

For those who know something has to change, but feel torn, afraid, conflicted, or unsure how to do it.

You may resonate with this workshop if:

  • You know a relationship is hurting you, but you keep minimizing it

  • You feel guilty even thinking about disappointing someone

  • You struggle to tell the difference between being loving and abandoning yourself

  • You need language for a hard conversation

  • You are afraid of backlash, conflict, or being seen as the problem

In this live workshop, we will cover:

  • what a healthy boundary actually is — and what it is not

  • how to recognize when a boundary is needed

  • why guilt shows up when you start telling the truth

  • how to communicate clearly without becoming harsh

  • how to prepare for pushback without collapsing under it

  • what it looks like to follow through with peace and steadiness

You will leave with:

  • clearer language

  • a practical framework

  • more confidence in your next step

  • less confusion about what love and honesty actually require

  • You need help making sense of the emotional whiplash that often follows estrangement

This is not therapy. This is not a substitute for professional mental health care. This is not a public group processing session.

It is thoughtful, practical teaching and encouragement for people navigating painful and complex relational realities.

  • These workshops may be especially helpful if you are navigating:

    • toxic family dynamics

    • emotional manipulation or chronic guilt

    • enmeshment or codependency patterns

    • low contact or no contact decisions

    • Christian confusion around honor, forgiveness, and boundaries

    • grief after estrangement

    • the tension between truth, peace, and self-betrayal

You do not need to have everything figured out. You just need to know that something in you is asking for clarity, courage, or steadiness.

  • Jon and Ashley Lefrandt are the creators of Leave Then Cleave, a platform dedicated to helping people navigate boundaries, estrangement, healing, marriage, and family systems with honesty, discernment, and faith.

Through their podcast, articles, videos, and book, they have helped thousands of people find language for painful realities they were taught to minimize, spiritualize, or silently endure.

Their work is known for being both compassionate and clear — honest about the cost of telling the truth, but deeply hopeful about what healing can look like on the other side.

  • No. These workshops are educational and supportive in nature, but they are not therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.

  • Yes, in the sense that Jon and Ashley’s work is deeply shaped by a Christian worldview. But the workshops will remain practical, honest, and accessible for people who are navigating these issues in real life.

Group gathering for a workshop

You are not weak for needing clarity…And you are not cruel for finally telling the truth about what a relationship has cost you.
